For the first time in five years, the California Department of Fish and Wildlife is stocking lakes high in the Sierra Nevada Mountains with rainbow trout, on Aug. 12, 2022.

How often does Apollo Park get stocked?

The Department stocks the lakes with Rainbow Trout twice a month October through May. Outside of those months, we do not stock the lakes. For our three annual fishing derbies at Apollo Park, we also purchase additional prize fish on top of the normal amount twice a month for stocking.

Do they stock Lake Hemet?

Lake Hemet is a fantastic location for fishing! The lake boasts healthy populations of Bass, Blue Gill and Catfish and we privately stock both Rainbow and Lightning Trout from November to April each year.
